{"id":12,"date":"2021-12-14T15:09:09","date_gmt":"2021-12-14T15:09:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rickhorvath.com\/rhblog\/?p=12"},"modified":"2021-12-14T15:15:42","modified_gmt":"2021-12-14T15:15:42","slug":"the-farfisa-christmas-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rickhorvath.com\/rhblog\/index.php\/2021\/12\/14\/the-farfisa-christmas-album\/","title":{"rendered":"The Farfisa Christmas Album"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Farfisas: Long Island&#8217;s Own Surf Band<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conceived, Produced and Performed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rickhorvath.com\/\">Rick Horvath<\/a><\/strong> <br \/>\u00a9  2021 OGWA Music.<br \/><strong><em>The Farfisas Are:<\/em><\/strong> <br \/><strong>Frankie Farfisa: Guitar, yells <br \/>Freddie Farfisa: Bass <br \/>Philip Farfisa: Farfisa <br \/>&#8220;Big&#8221; Fredo &#8220;Daddy&#8221; Farfisa: Drums<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Farfisas formed in early 2011 on Long Island, NY by Frankie who was at that time performing with a rockabilly band named &#8216;Hey Hey, Why Why?&#8217; and living out of a Winnebago. He ran in to Freddie who worked at a local bait and tackle shop. The two hit it off and decided to form their own band.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After seeing Fredo and Philip performing as the duo &#8216;Rude Dude&#8217;, Frankie coaxed them to join what would eventually become the Farfisas. Everyone took the surname &#8216;Farfisas&#8217; as a tip of the hat to The Ramones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Without any record company support, the band booked all their own shows along the south shore. They quickly grew a following of hair stylists and several used car dealers who were in between jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UPDATE 9\/2013: New keyboardist Fritz will be taking over for the recently incarcerated Philip.
